Vodafone Irelands Real-Time Text (RTT) service


Vodafone Ireland has officially launched its new Real-Time Text (RTT) service in collaboration with Chime.

This innovative feature enables customers to type and read messages instantly during calls, providing a vital new way for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people to communicate — including with emergency services — in real time. The launch marks an important step forward in accessibility and inclusion.

The service was unveiled at Chime’s NFS office with a photocall event. RTÉ attended to capture the occasion, interviewing Vodafone representatives, Chime client Julianne McAndrew, and Chime’s Mark Byrne. The piece was broadcast on RTÉ’s Six One News , and further coverage featured on RTÉ Online as well as Chime’s and Vodafone’s social media channels. Additional regional coverage also appeared in The Northern Standard.
