About the ID Card

This ID card is provided by Chime, the national charity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in Ireland. It is designed to help individuals communicate their hearing status and communication preferences in everyday interactions.

Personal Use

The card is for personal use only. It may be downloaded, completed, and printed by the individual or their caregiver. It is intended to support communication and increase awareness in public, social, or healthcare settings.

Data Privacy

  • No personal data is collected or stored by Chime.
    All information entered into the form remains on your own device and is not transmitted to or retained by Chime.

  • Chime will not access, process, or store any images, names, or other personal details entered into the card.

  • It is your responsibility to protect and store your completed card safely.

Voluntary Disclosure

Use of the card is completely voluntary. By creating and using the card, you are choosing to share certain information about your hearing status and communication preferences with others. You are free to decide when, where, and with whom to share your card.

No Official ID

This is not a government-issued or official identification card. It does not replace any medical documentation or formal certification.

No Liability

Chime accepts no liability for how the card is used or interpreted by third parties. While we hope it improves communication and accessibility, we cannot guarantee outcomes in all situations.
