Chime Supports ISL Learning in Schools Across Ireland

Over the past year, Chime was delighted to support Irish Sign Language (ISL) learning in multiple schools across Ireland, helping to promote greater awareness, inclusion, and understanding among students and staff.

The ISL schools project provided pupils and educators with the opportunity to learn basic ISL, gain insight into Deaf culture, and explore different ways people communicate. For many schools, it was a first introduction to ISL, sparking conversations about inclusion and accessibility.

By bringing ISL into school settings, the project helped create more inclusive environments where Deaf and Hard of Hearing people are better understood and supported. Teachers and students engaged enthusiastically.

We were especially proud to see the project recognised nationally when it featured on RTÉ’s news2day.

Chime would like to thank all the schools, students, and staff who took part and helped make this project such a success. We look forward to continuing our work to promote ISL, accessibility, and inclusion across communities in Ireland.
