13 0 ISL week 2023 Tuesday 31 October 2023 Recently some of our staff members who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or members of the Deaf community got together to create a short film “Journeys that define us”. They wanted to increase awareness and understanding of what it is like be a member of a Deaf family or to grow up being Deaf or Hard of Hearing. We in Chime think that through their candour and honesty they have provided a wonderful insight into the challenges and pleasures they have experienced growing up and into their adult lives. In the week that the Deaf community celebrate Irish Sign Language Awareness Week, we hope that sharing this film with you will help you join in the celebrations.
