Leadership team

  • Mark Byrne became Chief Executive of Chime in 2016. He has overall responsibility for the development, strategic direction, management and funding of the organisation, and reports to the voluntary Board of Directors, with whom he works closely. From 2009 to 2016, Mark worked with Focus Ireland — beginning as Finance Director, he was appointed Acting Chief Executive in 2013 and became Property Director in 2015. He qualified as an accountant in 1998 after training with KPMG and spent over 10 years working in senior finance roles in the corporate sector. Read a message from CEO Mark Byrne here.

  • Maura O’Leary joined the Chime team in 2000 when the organisation first opened its Killarney resource centre. Before moving to Ireland in 1998, she worked for ten years in New York City for an academic book publisher, leading the charge in production coordination. Progressing through administration roles in Chime, she began working in Human Resources in 2007. Maura holds a BA in Sociology from Mt. St.Mary’s University in Maryland. In May 2018, she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management from the Institute of Public Administration and completed her Masters in Spring 2019. Maura has completed ISL Level I, Level II and FETAC Level III.

  • Michael is a qualified management accountant (CIMA) and also has an MBA. He has over 15 years’ experience working in finance across both the private and not for profit sectors, having just completed 3 years in a large Irish Charity. 

    Outside of work he is a massive sports fan, and this year completed his third Dublin marathon.

  • Siobhan Cole is the Director of Community Services, with responsibility for all Community, Audiology and Technology Services. Siobhan has 15 years' experience working in the Disability Sector, specifically in Residential services with Adults and Children. Siobhan has a degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care and holds a level 9 certificate in Non-Profit Leadership and Management.

  • Danielle has responsibility for the advocacy and communications goals of the organisation. With almost 20 years’ experience working in social justice in the non-profit sector, Danielle has advocated for positive change in policy and legislation for marginalised groups experiencing social exclusion, homelessness, poverty, gender-based violence and human trafficking. Danielle holds a master’s in European Social Policy and a Level 9 certificate in Non-Profit Leadership and Management.

  • Born and raised in the Iveagh Trust in Dublin’s Inner City, Catherine is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin with over 30 years’ leadership experience in the statutory, private and community and voluntary sectors.
